What is LentoNIT K?
LentoNIT K is an ophthalmic solution for eye health, intended for the prophylaxis of degenerative disorders of the vitreous body and crystalline lens associated with age (cataract) and for eye lubrication. It is a medical device.
Its formula contains a complex of substances with antioxidant, moisturizing, and antiseptic effects, which support the maintenance of eye health.
How does it work?
• Potassium iodide → antioxidant effect, stabilizes hyaluronic acid in the vitreous body, crystalline lens, and tear film,
• Calcium chloride → hemostatic and membrane-permeabilizing effect, favoring iodine absorption
• Sodium thiosulfate → stabilizes iodine
• Chlorhexidine digluconate → antiseptic effect
• Sorbitol → hydrates the ocular surface
What does it contain?
• Potassium iodide (active substance)
• Calcium chloride 2 H₂O
• Sodium thiosulfate 5 H₂O
• Sorbitol
• Water for injections
• Chlorhexidine digluconate (preservative)
When is LentoNIT K recommended?
• for the prophylaxis of degenerative changes of the vitreous body and crystalline lens associated with age (cataract)
• lubrication of the ocular surface
How to use?
• Instill daily 1–2 drops, 3 times a day, into the conjunctival sac
• Before application:
– wash hands well
– remove the bottle cap
– tilt your head slightly back and pull down the lower eyelid
– apply the drops, then screw the cap back on
Contact lenses must be removed before use and can be reapplied after 15 minutes.
Warnings and precautions:
• Avoid concomitant use with other ophthalmic preparations (observe an interval of ~30 min between administrations)
• Do not use if the bottle is damaged
• May temporarily affect vision immediately after administration – avoid activities that require visual acuity (driving, operating machinery)
• Do not touch the dropper tip to the eye or other surfaces to prevent contamination
• Contact lenses must be removed before use and can be reapplied after 15 minutes.
Contraindications:
• hyperthyroidism
• hypersensitivity to iodine or other components of the product
• use during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or in children only on medical advice
Interactions:
• No significant interactions have been observed
• High doses of potassium iodide associated with potassium-sparing diuretics can cause hyperkalemia
Adverse reactions:
• No side effects have been reported when used correctly
• If unpleasant reactions occur, stop use and inform your doctor or pharmacist
Additional instructions:
• In case of accidental administration of an excessively high dose, no significant side effects occur
Storage conditions:
• Keep in a cool and dry place
• Keep out of the reach of children
• Use within at most 4 weeks of opening
• Do not use after the expiration date
